"The Girl With The Pearl Earring"
Girl with a Pearl Earring, nicknamed the 'Mona Lisa from the North' is an oil painting by Durtch Golden Age Painter, Johannes Vermeer, dated c. 1665. It depicts a European girl wearing an exotic dress, an oriental turban, and what was thought to be a very large pearl as an earring. There is not much known of the girl, Vermeer was known to paint women doing day to day things. But there's something very intimate about this painting, she looks so familiar, almost like we know her.
